Kiwi importer Zespri gets settled in Newport

Newport Beach is now the North American home of Zespri International, a New Zealand-based grower and importer of kiwifruit.

Company leaders and Newport Beach Mayor Kevin Muldoon gathered Thursday at the San Nicolas Drive headquarters for a traditional Maori ceremony — Maori are the indigenous people of New Zealand — to bless the building and a wooden carving.
