Annual Lantern Festival lights up Segerstrom Center in Costa Mesa

Costa Mesa’s Segerstrom Center for the Arts was aglow with excitement and illumination Saturday during the annual Lantern Festival presented by the Pacific Symphony and the South Coast Chinese Cultural Center/Irvine Chinese School.

The festival, which marks the end of the Lunar New Year celebration, featured an assortment of music and dance performances in the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall; activities such as Chinese knotting classes, a Taiwanese puppet show, calligraphy and riddle-solving; and other interactive and cultural demonstrations.

Guests also could make and decorate their own lanterns.
