The winning team could select a charity to benefit from the challenge. The seafood restaurant donated $3 for every oyster eaten.
Fire Department members came away with the trophy, edging the Police Department, 135 oysters to 123, and raising a total of $421 for A Walk on Water, which provides surf therapy to children with special needs.
The lifeguards finished third, with 94 oysters eaten.
One hundred dollars each was raised for the Huntington Beach Police Officers Foundation and Friends of the Junior Guards.
