Costa Mesa festival celebrates cultural arts

Cultural arts took center stage in Costa Mesa this weekend during ARTventure, a two-day celebration at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts.

The fourth annual event — held this year in the lobby of the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall — kicked off Friday with a reception, an awards presentation and live music.

On Saturday, the event pivoted to a more family-oriented focus with a packed lineup including hands-on demonstrations and activities in the musical, theatrical, literary and culinary arts.

The event, which also included a juried art show, is organized by the Costa Mesa Cultural Arts Committee and meant to highlight the city’s official motto, “City of the Arts.”
