What’s that noise? Blue Angels are preparing for Huntington Beach air show

Don’t sound the alarm. The roar of jets flying over local cities Thursday afternoon is simply the Blue Angels preparing for this weekend’s Breitling Huntington Beach Airshow.

The Navy’s precision flying team will perform in the show, which begins Friday with a practice session and lasts through Sunday near the Huntington Beach Pier.

On Thursday, the pilots were taking their jets on a scouting run in the area, Huntington Beach officials wrote on social media.

The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a temporary flight restriction over south Huntington Beach, meaning that unauthorized planes, helicopters and drones must remain on the ground through Sunday.
