Toy drive aimed at children of Marines

Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort is hosting a toy drive this month to collect gifts for children of Marines stationed at Camp Pendleton.

Until Dec. 15, unwrapped gifts for infants or kids up to 12 years old can be dropped off at toy-drive containers at the Back Bay Bistro, 1131 Back Bay Drive in Newport Beach.

The bistro is closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

Donations will be distributed to military families during a holiday event at Camp Pendleton.

The Newport Beach 1st Battalion, 1st Marines Foundation, which has adopted the Marine battalion at the base, is organizing the drive.
