Costa Mesa High School students welcomed the addition of a new performing arts center to their campus this week.

The new 355-seat theater, which was built using money from Measure F, a $282 million bond that voters approved in 2005, was unveiled to the community during a ribbon cutting ceremony Saturday evening. The night marked the end of a two year wait for the center.

Later that evening, the Costa Mesa High School Foundation hosted a masquerade gala to raise money for the theater and various art programs at the high school.

The foundation hopes to use a portion of the funds raised to purchase a concert grand piano for the theater.
