Newport Heights residents hold a ‘Hootenanny’
Newport Beach Councilman Tony Petros presented the second annual “Hootenanny in the Heights” neighborhood gathering Sunday at the newly relandscaped Cliff Drive Park.
Children played games as hotdogs sizzled on a grill. Activites included face painting, jewelry making and a firetruck.
“Most importantly, it was an opportunity for neighbors to get to meet neighbors,” Petros said during this week’s City Council meeting.
He added that the event provided a casual setting for residents to meet their representatives and talk about local issues. From the conversations Sunday, Newport Heights residents seem interested in exploring placing utilities underground, Petros said.
