Pipeline project closes PCH exits

Two exits on East Coast Highway are closed for the continued construction of a pipeline that will funnel water from the Big Canyon Reservoir to the eastern portion of Corona del Mar.

The westbound right-turn lane onto MacArthur Boulevard was blocked Tuesday morning, as was the eastbound right-turn lane onto Carnation Avenue.

The closures will remain in effect for the next three or four weeks, said Pat Thomas, the Newport Beach city engineer.

Construction on the project began in June.
