Classic VWs parade in Costa Mesa during 1,700-mile West Coast journey

The 17th annual Treffen Vintage VW Car Cruise, a caravan of classic Volkswagens, stopped in Costa Mesa on Saturday during a trip down the West Coast.

The caravan, which began July 31 in Port Angeles, Wash., arrived at the Days Inn on Newport Boulevard for an evening barbecue party before ending the trip Sunday in San Diego.

The 1,700-mile journey was organized by Ventura-based Airhead Parts.
