The principals at TeWinkle Middle School and Corona del Mar High School have left their positions to take jobs in other districts, school officials announced Friday.

Tim Bryan is leaving CdM to take a job as chancellor of the Oxford Preparatory Academy, a school in Mission Viejo for students in kindergarten through eighth grade, according to a news release from the Newport-Mesa Unified School District.

Principal Anna Corral is leaving her post at TeWinkle, a position she’d just been given.

In June, Newport-Mesa’s school board voted to shift her to the middle school from her previous job as principal of Rea Elementary School in Costa Mesa.

While she was transitioning to the new job, Anaheim Union High School District offered her a job as principal of Anaheim High School, according to Newport-Mesa Unified.

“Dr. Corral has expressed her sincere conflict in making the decision to leave N-MUSD and her new role as principal of TeWinkle,” the release stated. “However, Anaheim is where she started her career, and the opportunity to return as principal of the namesake high school is one she feels compelled to accept.”

Bryan wrote an email to families and staff at CdM announcing his move and thanking them for their support, the release stated.

“I am certain that CdM will continue to thrive and grow,” Bryan wrote. “I am grateful for all that my time here has taught me and the support you have provided for your children.”

CdM Assistant Principal Duncan McCulloch is also leaving, the district announced. He has accepted a job as principal of Segerstrom High School in Santa Ana.

The district wished all three employees well and announced it would start an open recruitment process for the top jobs at CdM and TeWinkle.

“The goal is to have a new principal in place by the start of the 2013-14 school year,” the release said.
