Around Town: South Coast Plaza to feature international kimonos
The Imagine Oneworld Kimono Project will culminate a Southern California tour on Sunday with two performances at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa.
The performances, presented by Japanese nonprofit Imagine Oneworld Inc., will feature seven of 196 kimonos handcrafted for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic games. Each kimono represents a country participating in the games. The Costa Mesa event will include the U.S. kimono.
The performances will be held at 1 and 4 p.m. at Carousel Court on the first level of the mall, 3333 Bristol St. They will include music played on piano and traditional Japanese drums and bamboo flute.
