Peek into ex-Ducks wing Rob Niedermayer’s Newport Coast home, sold at a loss
Former Anaheim Ducks right wing Rob Niedermayer and his wife, Jessica, have sold their home in the Crystal Cove area of Newport Coast for $3.6 million.
Niedermayer, who won a Stanley Cup with the Ducks in 2007, bought the house near the height of the market in 2005 for $3.95 million.

The two-story home, built in Mediterranean style in 2001, backs up to the sixth hole at the Pelican Hill Golf Course with ocean and canyon views.
Some 4,060 square feet of space features a double-height foyer, an eat-in kitchen, formal living and dining rooms, five bedrooms and 5.75 bathrooms. Travertine floors, wrought iron details and beamed ceilings are among the interior details.
Outdoors, tiled grounds center on a patio with a built-in barbecue and an outdoor fireplace. A raised spa with a waterfall feature takes in wide views of the Tom Fazio-designed golf course.
The home returned to the market in March with an asking price of $3.895 million, records show.
Jim Weisenbach of Surterre Properties was the listing agent. Carole Geronsin of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices represented the buyer.
Niedermayer, 40, played 17 seasons in the NHL for the Florida Panthers, Calgary Flames and Ducks, among others. He is the brother of former Ducks captain Scott Niedermayer, now an assistant with the team.
