CdM has a new assistant principal
Daniel Patterson, a middle school teacher at Corona del Mar High School, will take over as assistant principal in July.
Newport-Mesa Unified trustees approved Patterson’s promotion at their meeting Tuesday night.
This school year, Patterson has been working as an administrative intern at the high school and as the middle school activities director, which requires him to teach an hourlong leadership class each day, said district spokeswoman Laura Boss.
The school has been without a permanent assistant principal since Duncan McCulloch left to assume the role of principal at Segerstrom High School in Santa Ana last year.
