Four three-story homes could soon make an appearance on Maple Avenue in Costa Mesa’s Westside.

The Planning Commission on Tuesday is expected to discuss the plans for a housing project at 2068 Maple Ave.

The 10,260-square-foot parcel of land, on the east side of Maple, abuts a condominium complex to the east and south. A six-unit, three-story detached development is under construction adjacent to the proposed project site.

The three-story homes would sit along the southern portion of the lot with 6 feet between them, according to a staff report. Each would have a two-car garage and a 316-square-foot rooftop deck accessible from an exterior stairway leading from the third floor.

The homes would have a modern design with exterior finishes of ribbed metal sliding, horizontal plank sliding or brick veneer on the ground level.

“The project would redevelop a vacant parcel with a high-quality project that would enhance the site and its surroundings,” the staff report states in recommending approval of the project.

The Planning Commission will meet at 6 p.m. at 77 Fair Drive.
