Technology is lending a hand to those who want to maintain their health and shed a few pounds, thanks to a mobile app designed in part by Costa Mesa-based Lindora Inc.

The provider of weight-loss programs has partnered with PEAR Sports to create the official Lindora Lean for Life! Fitness App, according to a news release.

The app offers real-time audio fitness coaching and records the user’s progress, while following workout plans developed by two fitness leaders: Robert Reames, nutritionist on television’s “Dr. Phil,” and Jenny Hadfield, a regular columnist for runnersworld.com.

“The workouts are based on how your heart responds to exercise,” Reames said in the release. “The official Lindora Lean for Life! Fitness app guides you step by step, telling you when to speed up or slow down, provides useful tips to improve your form, explains the purpose and benefits of the workout and keeps you motivated.

“Another great feature is you don’t have to calculate or remember any numbers to perform your workouts effectively, as the app will do it all for you.”

The Lindora Lean for Life! Fitness App is available free for iPhones through the App Store. The app is unavailable for Android users, according to a Lindora spokesperson.
