2 hospitalized after Costa Mesa crash
Two people suffered traumatic injuries Tuesday morning when a car slammed into a pickup on Harbor Boulevard in Costa Mesa, according to police.
The crash, which occurred at about 10 a.m., caused the closure of northbound Harbor at Adams Avenue for about three hours while authorities investigated the scene, a police official said.
A Volkswagen Beetle was headed north on Harbor when a Toyota Tundra traveling south turned left in front of the car at Village Way, Costa Mesa police Lt. Vic Bakkila said.
Emergency crews took two occupants of the Volkswagen to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana for treatment, according to police. Both are expected to survive their injuries, Bakkila said.
No one in the Toyota was hospitalized, Bakkila said.
No further information was immediately available.
