Man sought in Irvine bank robbery
Police and the FBI are searching for a man who robbed an Irvine bank Wednesday evening, according to authorities.
The robber entered a Wells Fargo at 6503 Quail Hill Parkway around 5 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding cash, Irvine police spokeswoman Farrah Emami said.
After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the robber stuffed it into a plastic grocery bag and fled in a silver four-door pickup, police said.
The man didn’t speak or display a weapon during the heist, police said.
Police described the man as white, in his 30s, about 5-feet-7 and 140 pounds, with a thin build. He also had dark hair, thin lips and either a missing upper tooth or a gap in his teeth, police said.
He was wearing tan shorts, a blue jacket with a white zipper, white-rimmed sunglasses and a Red Sox baseball cap, according to authorities.
Police asked that anyone with information about the robbery contact Det. Karie Davies at 949-724-7131 or [email protected].
