Costa Mesa to discuss host city events for Special Olympics
Costa Mesa officials are holding a press conference Wednesday to discuss its host town partnership for this summer’s Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles.
The press conference will begin at 2 p.m. at Vanguard University, 55 Fair Drive.
City officials will talk about the three countries that Costa Mesa is hosting from July 21 to 24: Aruba, the Bahamas and Malawi.
Costa Mesa’s festivities will include special events and activities that showcase the city’s nickname, City of the arts.
Newport Beach, Huntington Beach and Irvine are also participating as host cities.
The games take place from July 25 to Aug. 7 and will have more than 7,000 athletes participating.
