Man arrested after 16 pounds of marijuana found in car

Costa Mesa police said they found 16 pounds of marijuana in a car Wednesday night and arrested the La Habra man who was driving.

Officers received a call about a suspicious vehicle around 8 p.m. and pulled it over in the 3000 block of Capri Lane, a cul-de-sac in the Mesa Verde neighborhood, authorities said.

Police said they interviewed the driver and a passenger, searched the car and found the marijuana inside.

Miguel Angel Ambriz, 35, was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to sell. The passenger was not arrested.

Police impounded the car.
