Irvine police arrested a 57-year-old woman after a gunshot was fired during a domestic dispute Monday evening, according to a Police Department spokeswoman.

The dispute started about 5 p.m. when a woman with a gun arrived in the 600 block of Hayes and went into the apartment of a man she had been involved with romantically, according to police.

The two began struggling in the doorway and the gun fired a shot that hit a wall inside the home, authorities said.
