Theodore Robins Ford shows off new decor
Theodore Robins Ford, a Newport-Mesa institution since 1921, held a grand re-opening ceremony Thursday for its renovated Harbor Boulevard dealership.
The 10-acre facility at 2060 Harbor in Costa Mesa underwent $3.2 million worth of major renovations last year, from June to December. The work marked a major change for dealership’s decor, which had essentially remained in its original state since Theodore Robins moved there in 1966, said Jim Robins, president and a co-owner alongside Bob and Dave Robins.
The dealership received new finishes throughout, new flooring, a customer lounge and new parts store, Jim Robins said.
“We’re really pleased with the way it turned out,” he added.
A 1914 Ford Model T sat in the corner as attendees enjoyed light refreshments in the bright, airy space. The vintage automobile did have a few newer touches on it, namely an oversized blue bow on the windshield and a gold Theodore Robins license plate frame.
