Dogs put paws on the ground for breast-cancer fight

Dogs and dog owners stepped out Saturday for the Paws Fur Pink 5K Run/Walk at Irvine Regional Park, helping to raise more than $14,000 for the Orange County chapter of breast-cancer charity Susan G. Komen.

Participants were asked to raise at least $125 in donations, the average cost of a Komen-funded mammogram.

The event also featured a Dawdling Doodle 1-Mile Walk, a Lassie Loop Lil Kids Dash and the Pawsitively Pink Costume Contest.
