No injuries are reported after fire at Travelodge in Costa Mesa
Firefighters quickly took control of a two-alarm blaze at the Travelodge Orange County Airport/Costa Mesa hotel Saturday afternoon, knocking down a fire near the roof area of the complex in the 1400 block of Bristol Avenue.
The Costa Mesa Fire Department arrived on the scene at 12:51 p.m. and had the fire under control by 1:16 p.m., Battalion Chief Bill Kershaw said.
There were no reported injuries. Kershaw said investigators were still trying to determine a cause of the fire and the monetary damage to the facility.
Forty-two of the 120 units at the hotel were affected by the blaze, but no one was displaced from the hotel. Guests in the damaged units were moved to other rooms, Kershaw said.
