Two masked men, both wearing a glove on one hand, robbed a liquor store at gunpoint Sunday night in west Newport Beach, according to police.

The men entered The Outpost Liquor at West Coast Highway at 62nd Street around 8:15 p.m., authorities said.

The sole employee at the time told police that one man had a scarf or mask over his face and held what looked like a revolver. The other man, who reportedly had a knife, wore a dark hat and covered his face with a dark bandanna, police said.

No customers were in the store at the time, according to police.

Both robbers reportedly wore a black knit glove on their left hand and held their weapon in the other hand, said Newport Beach police spokeswoman Jennifer Manzella.

Police said the men stole a few hundred dollars in cash and fled.

Police described both robbers as white, 25 to 35 years old and about 6 feet tall with thin builds, Manzella said. One wore a white T-shirt, jeans and dark shoes; the other wore a black T-shirt, long black shorts with a white stripe down each side and dark socks with dark shoes.

Detectives investigating the case are reviewing surveillance recordings, Manzella said.
