Football party benefits Marines, vets
Owners of a Costa Mesa-based business hosted their seventh Super Bowl party on Sunday for Camp Pendleton Marines and veterans.
Gary and Julie Crisp, owners of C2, hosted the event at the American Legion Post 291 in Newport Beach for 400 guests, including members of the 5th Marine Regiment and veterans of conflicts dating to World War II.
The party featured appearances by the USC Marching Band, former NBA player Keith Erickson, the Clippers dancers, singer Martin Gerschwitz and Desperado, an Eagles tribute band.
The event netted $12,000 for the Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment Support Group.
“We are so pleased to be able to give these heroes a day of pure fun and carefree play,” said Gary Crisp in a statement. “For me, this is really a spiritual day to bring everyone together to enjoy fellowship and share stories. It’s our humble honor to recognize the service and sacrifice of our military men and women.”
