3 asleep when car crashes into their Costa Mesa home
An apparently intoxicated driver crashed through the wall of a Costa Mesa house and into a bedroom where three people were sleeping early Saturday, according to police.
The black Toyota Camry rammed about a foot into the house at 700 Hamilton Street at about 3:20 a.m., Costa Mesa police spokesman Lt. Greg Scott said.
Two adults and a child were asleep inside the room when the car came crashing through the wall, but all three escaped injury, according to Scott.
Officers responded to the scene and arrested the Camry’s driver, Hugo Sanchez, 22, of Costa Mesa, on suspicion of driving under the influence, Scott said.
Sanchez was unhurt, according to police.
