Celebrating for the love of popcorn
If you just can’t get your fill of popcorn, you can find plenty of it this weekend at the Orange County Market Place in Costa Mesa — and it’s free.
The swap meet at the OC Fair & Event Center is continuing its two-day celebration of National Popcorn Day by offering the popular snack at no cost from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
Captain Popcorn, a strolling pirate, will hand out free bags of Gaslamp Popcorn from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Kaptain Kernel, “the King of Korn,” will perform magic and comedy from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Orange County Market Place is at 88 Fair Drive. Admission is $2 for guests 13 and older and free for children 12 and younger and military personnel with identification.
