Man dies of motorcycle crash injuries
A Huntington Beach motorcyclist died Friday morning from injuries he suffered earlier this week in a crash in Costa Mesa, according to authorities.
David Christmas, 23, was headed east on Baker Street near Bear Street around 10:30 a.m. Thursday when he slammed into a Ford Fusion that had turned left in front of him, police said. Christmas suffered major head trauma.
Paramedics took him to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana, where he succumbed to his injuries at 6:10 a.m. Friday, police said.
The crash also injured a 25-year-old Huntington Beach woman who was riding with Christmas. She suffered a bruised chin and cuts to her arms, police said.
The car’s driver, the sole occupant, was not hurt, police said.
Authorities are still investigating. Police said drugs and alcohol do not appear to have played a role in the crash.
