Newport police to gain one officer, promote others
The Newport Beach Police Department will swear in one new officer and promote several others during a ceremony at the Civic Center on Monday morning.
Eric Rosenberg, an officer from the Santa Barbara Police Department, will be sworn in as a Newport Beach police officer.
Jon Lewis will be promoted from lieutenant to deputy chief. Joseph Cartwright and Randy Querry will be promoted from sergeants to lieutenants. Eric Little will be promoted from police officer to sergeant.
Wendy Joe and Kjersti Martini will be promoted from community relations officers to civilian investigators.
Claudia Barboza will be recognized for her October promotion from cadet to part-time custody officer.
The ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. in the Civic Center Community Room, 100 Civic Center Drive.
