Fire burns garage at Costa Mesa home
Costa Mesa officials are investigating the cause of a fire at a house Tuesday night.
The Fire Department responded to reports of a blaze at a single-story house in the 500 block of Grand Haven Circle at 9:06 p.m., authorities said.
Firefighters reported heavy smoke coming from the attached garage. Officials believe the blaze started near the washer and dryer.
Crews contained the fire to the garage and extinguished the flames within 20 minutes. No injuries were reported.
Officials estimated damage to the building at $10,000 and loss of contents at $1,500.
