God coaxed an angel to come home to heaven when Martha peacefully passed on the morning after Christmas day.

Born and raised in Lakewood (Cleveland), Ohio, Martha grew up with and then married the man that she only knew, Bob Crowner. After WWII they headed west and arrived in Balboa to establish their life in Newport and to raise their family….Jameson (‘45), Libby (‘52) and Cameron (‘58).

Community service was a commitment for Martha for most of her life. She joined the Assistance League of Newport Beach in 1952 and served over 60 years in both local (President) and national (Membership Chairman) chapters. Martha was also an integral part of Angelitos de Oro (Big Brothers auxiliary) for over 40 years. As a founding member of the Our Lady Queen of Angels’ parish since the 1960’s, Martha served in numerous ministries and was a wedding coordinator for over 10 years.

The early days of Bayshores raising her family, the ladies groups at Irvine Coast CC, bridge parties, leadership roles in her beloved charities, the devotion to her Catholicism, road trips/travels aboard with Bob and the family and various garden & book clubs were all spokes that created the wonderful wheel of life for Martha.

Preceded in death by her husband Bob (1980) and her eldest son Jamie (2007), Martha is survived by her daughter Libby and son Cameron; grandchildren Allison, Robert, Matthew (Amy) and Bryan; great grandchildren Sebastian, Skyler and Maverick; great-great grandchild Hayes; and her cherished extended family of John & Lynn Mark, Tracey Barrett and Charles & Pat Mark and their families.

The Crowner family graciously extends their gratitude & appreciation to our mother’s longtime doctors, devoted caregivers (BIBC/Vivante Living) and heartfelt friends that gave support & comfort to Martha towards the end of her life’s journey.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, January 6th at Our Lady Queen of Angels, Newport Beach. Reception following. The family requests any donations in Martha’s memory to be made to: Assistance League of Newport Mesa@ www.alnm.org or Angelitos de [email protected].
