Born in Hemet, Ca., Scottie lived as a young girl on a guest ranch for hunters in Sage, Ca. A few years later she moved to La Sierra, Ca. where she attended La Sierra Seventh-Day Adventist Academy. After she married she made her home in Claremont, Ca. and spent summers and holidays with her loved ones at her bayfront beach house on Balboa Island. Eventually Scottie moved permanently to Balboa Island where she had a wonderful life, many cherished friends and a career in real estate and was an “islander” for 47 years. She was a devoted member of the Costa Mesa Seventh-Day Adventist church.

In 2007 Scottie moved to Big Bear, Ca. as she thought the beauty and serenity of the mountains would be a nice change for her. She joined the Big Bear Seventh-Day Adventist church and she loved to hike, golf and enjoyed life as a “mountain mama.”

Her beloved son Randell Ray Piper preceded her in death in 2013, and now she has joined him and is in the arms of “her Jesus”, as she loved to call the Lord. Scottie is survived by her brother Leslie Gerald Scott, her daughters Tanya Yvonne Piper and Jonleigh Michele Piper, her grandson Jake Stebner and precious great grandson Huxley Wilder Stebner. She also leaves behind her son Randell’s children Sephora, Joshua and Sarah Piper who reside in Nebraska.
