CHARLES A. LANGLOIS

Charles A. Langlois was born December 18, 1933 to Alice and Harold Langlois in Santiago, Chile. He went to our Lord on Monday, July 25, 2011 after suffering a brain hemorrhage late Saturday evening. He joined his beloved wife of 56 years, just 8 months after she entered eternal Heaven in November of 2010.

When he was 11, he and his parents came to the US on vacation, and they eventually settled in Santa Barbara. Chuck joined the United States Air Force, and later became a proud US citizen. He met the love of his life, Loretta May Miller in Santa Barbara and they were married in August, 1954. Chuck’s first language was Spanish and this provided him many opportunities to take his growing family to several countries in South and Central America as a Master Sergeant in the Air Force.

Chuck and Loretta’s six children were born all over the Western Hemisphere—Susan in California, Chip and Jeanne in Panama, Eileen in Florida, Alicia in Panama, and David in Lima Peru. The family also lived in Ecuador, Texas and Kansas, before settling in Irvine after Chuck’s retirement from the Air Force. In Irvine, he began his second career as a real estate agent, and then broker.

Chuck loved his work in real estate and anyone who knew him, knew how much he cherished working with people. Helping people find that very first home was one of Chuck’s most treasured moments. He was a loyal and trusted business man, who valued the relationships he built with all he encountered.

Chuck was a generous man who gave fully and unreservedly to charities, political causes, humanitarian causes, and many, many individuals.

Chuck is survived by his six children, 18 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. A Rosary will be held on Monday, August 1st at 7:00 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Irvine, California. A Funeral Mass will be said on Tuesday, August 2nd at 10:00 a.m., at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.
