Joyce Mae Hilliard June 14, 1928 - August 11, 2013

Joyce Mae Hilliard died August 11 of natural causes at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach. She was born June 14th, 1928 to Mary and Russell Hubbard. She was an only child, and grew up in Beverly Hills, Ca.

After she graduated from high school, she went on to get a teaching degree at the University of Southern California. While there she met and married Richard Hilliard a handsome lifeguard. They lived very happily in Corona Del Mar where they raised their three sons. She taught 5th grade at Newport Heights Elementary School in Newport Beach until she retired 20 years ago.

She loved to shop and the UPS truck stopped at her home daily! She loved anything that glittered and was always well dressed in the latest designs that included sequins (of course). She was brilliant, and she loved to play games! In fact she could always be counted upon to best us at Jeopardy!

She is survived by her dear husband of 64 years Richard Hilliard her three sons, Douglas R Hilliard , his daughters Virginia and Chelsea Hilliard, Scott R Hilliar his wife and daughters Martha J Hilliard , Rachel Hilliard and Alissa Matze and James R Hilliard his wife and daughters Rebecca Ruth Hilliard, Rhea Hilliard and Morgen Hilliard. 2013. She was greatly loved and will be truly missed!
