John passed away peacefully after a four year battle with dementia.

He was born in Mason City, Iowa, to Greek immigrant parents, Nicholas and Helen Totos-Argos. His life was a testament to their American Dream.

Illness as a child scarred John with a permanent heart murmur. This condition however, led him to his one great passion - Music.

At 18 he joined the Jimmy Dorsey travelling big band. John played both the tenor sax and clarinet. He cherished this experience throughout his life.

John worked hard and achieved success in business. He was one of the pioneers in the Automotive Aftermarket. He enjoyed the industry for 40+ years. He travelled all over the country and then ultimately the world.

In later life, John enjoyed traveling, gardening and volunteering. A few of his favorite non-profits were, S.C.O.R.E., Hoag Hospital NPB, and St. Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church in Irvine, CA.

He is preceded in death by all three of his siblings, an older brother and two sisters.

He is survived by four children, and seven grandchildren.

He is interred at Pacific View Memorial Park in Newport Beach.
