George Morris McNamee<br/>July 3, 1932 - November 4, 2014

George McNamee, a 38 year resident of Corona del Mar, passed peacefully at home early Tuesday. He is survived by his High School Sweetheart and loving wife of 60 years, Sharlee, his three children, Rebecca, Dirk and Karen, and three grandchildren, Jake, Hank and Sharlee, and his best friend and brother, Phil McNamee.

In his early years, he spent most summers on Balboa Island with his extended family. He moved permanently to Corona del Mar in 1976 from Lake Tahoe. After his return from service in the Coast Guard, he graduated college and went on to become a successful entrepreneur in both hospitality and insurance businesses. His family and friends knew they could find George tending to his flowers on his beach at Big Corona, and that they were always welcome. He was a lifetime supporter of the Boy Scouts of America. As an Eagle Scout, he mentored his son and two grandsons as well as others, in achieving their rank of Eagle Scout.
