Room & Board opens new accessories department

Room & Board, a modern furniture and home decor business at South Coast Village, opened a new accessories department on the second floor of its showroom last month.

The color-coordinated collection of the decor items is separated into nine vignettes, organized by patterns and variations within a similar theme.

The new accessories department features throw pillows, frames, lamps, bowls, vases and artwork. Room & Board, which offers American-made furniture, transformed the space with new flooring and a new kids’ department. A cash register and a gift wrap stand was installed on the second floor to make it easier for shoppers to purchase accessories.

“People didn’t know we had a second floor and it’s just a nice way for us to accentuate the accessories,” said Scott Jussila, Room & Board retail manager. “It’s like an inspiration center.”

Collections will be changed out three to four times a year, but the color schemes including black and gold, white, ivory and taupe, navy and paprika red, will remain the same.
