Speaker series focuses on women in leadership

Female Orange County business leaders are invited to participate in a new speaker series starting Friday.

“The Brand New You — What’s Behind the Makeup” will be the inaugural program of the Leadership in Heels speaker series, founded by Scharrell Jackson, chief financial administrative officer of Squar Milner LLP in Newport Beach.

During the series, speakers and panelists will discuss how to become a dynamic and effective leader while remaining true to yourself and others in the community. Friday’s event will feature Delphine Berryhill, owner of Irvine-based Butterfli Me Makeup Studio. Berryhill will speak about her business experience and give attendees makeup goody-bags.

The next meeting, “Design Your Life,” is scheduled for November and will feature the former chief executive officer of IKEA.

A portion of the proceeds raised from the event will go to Human Options, a shelter for victims of domestic violence in Orange County.

The first lecture will be held from 7 to 9 a.m. Friday at the Pacific Club, 4110 MacArthur Blvd., Newport Beach. Registration is $75.
