Newport library is looking for volunteers
Newport Beach Public Library is seeking volunteers for its Library Homebound Delivery Service.
The free delivery service offers library materials, CDs and DVDs to residents unable to visit the library due to temporary or long-term illness or disability.
Once the service is accepted, Homebound Delivery Service customers receive a preferences form to fill out to help librarians select materials that will meet their needs. Volunteers will ask about reading and entertainment preferences with the customer and will serve as a liaison with library staff. After materials are selected, the volunteers will deliver them to the customer and pick up items that were delivered on a previous visit.
For more information, call the library’s Homebound coordinator, Jana Colver at (949) 717-3824.
