Jack Edington Boyd (Jeb) lost his fight with cancer and left this world on December 9, 2011. Born in Santa Ana, CA on April 17, 1948, Jack first attended Newport Harbor High School before serving a tour in the army during the Vietnam War.
After attending Orange Coast College as a student and receiving his AA degree, he returned as an instructor of photography, and later ran his own architectural photography business. From one passion to another, Jack fell in love with the ocean, becoming a captain of passenger vessels and later certified in the operation of military prototype hovercraft. Jack had retired, and was living on his boat with his wife Megan in Long Beach.
He is survived by his wife, Megan Boyd, parents Loy and Gettie Johnston, sisters Jill and Kathy, brother Scott, stepdaughters Esme and Malissa, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A day dedicated to celebrating Jack’s life is still pending. Jack will remain at sea and in the vast ocean of our hearts, with the wind at his back.
