Bob & the entire Mosier Clan invite all who wish to celebrate the life of Beverly Joy Mosier to join them Friday May 1st, noon, at 2242 Mesa Drive, Newport Beach, CA 92660.

Born in Alberta, Canada, Beverly Joy Christiansen grew up in Hollywood, met a returning Army Air Corp Pilot in 1946 and remained married to her best friend Bob Mosier, Laguna’s Patriot of the year, for 67 years. She was known as Gramma Bev to 14 grandchildren &15 great grandchildren & all those she invited to be family.

Linda Binley wrote “She was one in a million. After all, how many women are interested in both meteorites and baking cookies, roses and physics, dolls and sculpting? She taught me a lot about being a woman in the world, and both following one’s interests and building a strong family.”

Delighting in every facet of life Beverly could pick up a hammer as easily as she, without a recipe, poured fresh ingredients into a pot to make an array of candies, soups and breads. Remarkably creative, her talent spanned many media: painting, sewing, sail-making, jewelry and sculpting. Her extraordinary set of 44 original First Lady Dolls now reside in the National Archives housed at the Nixon Library. These accomplishments are rivaled only by her talent as a story teller and writer of novels, poems and childrens’ stories.

Beverly’s extensive philanthropies benefitted from her talented contributions. The Gift Tree, Donation Doll House, Book Boat and Brett the Book Worm are still used by Laguna’s Library.

Beverly had recently been diagnosed with MDS and with her husband and four children, Nancy Swan, Pam Mizell, J.R. Mosier, and Bonnie Bohart at her side she passed away. She was dearly loved.

She always said Fisherman Cove was the best place in all the world. She turned their rocky cliff into a hillside of magnificent roses to beautify Laguna’s public views. The American Legion Memorial Day Ceremony received flowers from her garden each year.

In tribute, Bev’s Rose Garden on Fisherman Cove will be expanded for public enjoyment.
