Sponsors sought for children’s holiday party

Two nonprofits are seeking sponsors that will allow 500 children from Orange County shelters and motels to have a private holiday party at South Coast Plaza.

The Happiness Project and Costa Mesa-based Festival of Children Foundation are asking for $125 for each child to visit Santa, make holiday crafts, eat food, play games and receive a gift bag full of toys, school supplies, gift cards and clothes during the Dec. 14 event.

The money also includes the children’s transportation to and from the event, which goes from 9 p.m. to midnight after the Costa Mesa shopping center’s normal operating hours.
