Man killed in Friday crash identified as Costa Mesa resident
A man struck by a car in an unincorporated county area near Newport Beach on Friday night has been identified as a 56-year-old Costa Mesa resident, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
James McLain died at 3:44 a.m. Saturday at Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo almost nine hours after being struck by a car near Irvine Avenue and Anniversary Lane, according to the Sheriff’s Department website.
There was no information made available by California Highway Patrol on whether anyone was arrested at the scene.
