Four local nonprofits get grants

The Newport Beach-based Orange County Community Foundation’s Next Generation group granted $31,000 to four local nonprofits in December, a news release said.

The group of donors and volunteers targeted organizations serving at-risk children.

Dr. Riba’s Health Club of Costa Mesa received $10,500 for increased staffing and program expansion to help 150 kids and their families.

The Children’s Hospital of Orange County’s Breathmobile mobile asthma clinic received $5,000 for the Vietnamese Children’s Asthma Project.

KidWorks of Santa Ana received $10,000 for its University Starts Now program.

And Project Hope of Orange was awarded $5,500 to help fund a part-time science teacher.

The foundation, established in 1989, connects donors and nonprofits to meet Orange County’s needs.
