Laguna Design Review Board members needed
Laguna Beach is looking to appoint three Design Review Board members and one alternate, according to a news release.
The City Council will interview and appoint four candidates at its Jan. 6 meeting. Interviews and appointments are generally held in October but this year were moved to January because of the November election, the release says.
Council members request that applicants attend at least two current Design Review Board meetings before being interviewed.
New board members’ terms will begin April 1 and run through Jan. 31, 2017.
The board, which consists of five members and one alternate, considers requests for zoning variances.
Each member serves for two years and is paid $324 per month. The board meets twice a month.
Board members should expect to spend 10 hours a week on related matters, according to the release. In addition to the meetings, members are expected to visit sites and review project plans.
Experience in the building trades, architecture, historic preservation, landscaping, planning or real estate is desirable.
Interested Laguna Beach residents should obtain an application from the city clerk’s office at City Hall or at https://www.lagunabeachcity.net and return it by 5 p.m. Dec. 30.
For more information, call the clerk’s office at (949) 497-0705. City Hall is at 505 Forest Ave.
