Laguna Beach police arrested a group of teenagers suspected of mugging a woman in Bluebird Park on Sunday morning, according to authorities.

The woman was in the park at 8:13 a.m. when four male teenagers pushed her to the ground and took a wallet out of her hand, police Sgt. Tim Kleiser said. The woman was not seriously hurt, Kleiser said.

The four teens fled to a car that had a fifth teenager inside, according to Kleiser.

Officers quickly pulled over a vehicle on Laguna Canyon Road near Canyon Acres Drive and detained the occupants, all of whom were between 14 and 17 years old, Kleiser said.

Officers said they found the woman’s wallet in the car and recovered $180 of the $200 she said was inside.

Police held four of the juveniles on suspicion of robbery. Three were taken to juvenile hall, and the other was released to parents, Kleiser said.

Two of the teens are from Irvine and the others are from Buena Park and Los Alamitos, Kleiser said.

Before the robbery, one of the Irvine teens had been reported missing after running away from home, according to police.
