City hires planners to improve building plan processing
Laguna Beach recently hired two associate planners to handle an uptick in zoning and building requests, according to a news release.
In an effort to lessen the time it takes to process building plan requests to no more than two weeks, the city hired Monique Alanis-Flejter and Christian Dominguez.
Alanis-Flejter was a development project specialist and associate planner for Peoria, Ariz., for the last eight years and previously worked for the cities of Mesa, Ariz., and Glendora.
She holds a master’s degree in public administration from Western International University and a bachelor’s degree in public administration from Cal State San Bernardino. She lives with her husband and two sons in Anaheim.
Dominguez was an assistant planner and code enforcement aide for Laguna Hills for the last five years and previously worked for the city of Scottsdale, Ariz. He holds a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from UC Irvine and a bachelor’s degree in urban planning and architecture from Arizona State University.
Dominguez lives with his wife in Laguna Niguel.
