Laguna chase ends in crash; arrest made at gunpoint
An Aliso Viejo man who led Laguna Beach police on a car chase through the city was arrested at gunpoint Saturday, Laguna police said.
Alan Terrazas, 41, was arrested on suspicion of felony evading police, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, misdemeanor hit-and-run and reckless driving, Sgt. Tim Kleiser wrote in an email. Terrazas is accused of hitting three cars during the pursuit.
The chase began at 4:39 p.m. in north Laguna when police received a call about a blue Volkswagen Jetta traveling south on North Coast Highway near Boat Canyon Drive.
Terrazas is accused of hitting a car at Myrtle Street and North Coast Highway. He then headed east on Laguna Canyon Road and hit another car at the intersection with Sun Valley Drive, Kleiser said.
The Jetta turned onto El Toro Road and eventually rear-ended another car at the intersection with Aliso Creek Road in Laguna Woods, where the chase ended.
One person was hospitalized but no major injuries were reported, Kleiser said.
