4 artists chosen in Postcards from Laguna competition

The Arts Commission last month selected four artists to paint images of postcards that will hang on the Verizon building on Broadway Street, according to a news release.

Commissioners reviewed submissions in the Postcards from Laguna competition from 20 artists, selecting Robin Wethe Altman, Carole Boller, David P. Cooke and Michael Hallinan.

The artists will paint their original artwork on canvases measuring 7 feet by 5 feet. The paintings will be temporarily displayed on the building at 295 Broadway St. facing the Whole Foods parking lot.

This program is being funded by Laguna Beach hotels and lodges.
